Welcome to Updown Court, the most expensive country house in Britain and yours for a cool £70million. The majestic property is being officially launched on the market this week and, for once, there really is no need for estate agent exaggeration when it comes to the garden. It includes 63 acres of land - larger than both Buckingham Palace and Hampton Court - at Windlesham in the picturesque heart of Surrey, just a 28-mile drive fron central London. For the man or woman who has everything, Updown Court's sumptuous facilities also include a private cinema, bowling alley, squash court, floodlit tennis court, stabling for five horses and underground garaging for eight cars. A sweeping double staircase at the entrance of the main house is a replica of the late Gianni Versace's home in Miami, while the main house even contains a "panic room" in case of terrorist attack. A spokesperson for the development said: "Leslie bought it in 2002 and the property was just a shell." Last year, Britain's fifth richest man, steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal, paid £70million for a house in London's Kensington Palace Gardens.
